Conclusion

With the integration of the TALLBOY® composting system, NACIN Bengaluru has established a model in-situ waste management setup within a government training institution. Their initiative reinforces that decentralized composting is not just for residential complexes but also for campuses and institutions looking to lead by example. It aligns perfectly with Swachh Bharat and sustainability goals, while nurturing a culture of daily environmental responsibility.

Testimonial

"Thanks to TALLBOY®, we’ve turned our waste into a resource. Our compost-fed herbal garden is now a living example of circular, campus-level sustainability."

— Campus Administrator, NACIN Bengaluru

The Results

  • Efficient composting of daily organic waste with zero transportation needs.

  • High-quality compost with a rich, earthy smell used in campus gardens.

  • Creation of a vibrant herbal garden, maintained using the compost.

  • Contributed significantly to achieving their Five-Star Green Building rating.

  • The herbal garden has become a highlight for visiting dignitaries and trainees.

The Solution

To address this, NACIN adopted in-situ composting using the TALLBOY® organic waste converter supplied by Riteways. The TALLBOY® system allowed them to process both food and garden waste right within the campus — without the need for electricity, heavy maintenance, or external disposal. It enabled odor-free, natural composting of mixed organic waste through a simple and efficient process.

The Problem

The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), Bengaluru, is a sprawling green campus designed to train Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers. With large numbers of residents during training sessions, the campus generated a mix of food waste and large volumes of dry garden waste. Disposing of this organic waste in a sustainable manner was essential — not only to meet environmental goals but also to comply with their green building aspirations
